The Top Ten Ways to Boost Your Metabolism

Boosting your metabolism requires faith, self-discipline and a willingness to change. This is because most slow metabolism are the result of years of bad habits and a reluctance to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

There is not a magic bullet or pill that will automatically boost your metabolism. It takes a slow, steady commitment to following through on each of the top ten ways to boost your metabolism.
  1. Train with weights - Aerobic exercise is good for you, but it's the anaerobic exercise on the removal of the weights that will convert fat into muscle will burn fat. This is because muscle tissue is metabolically active tissue. This means that it burns calories even while at rest. So it is logical that the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns.
  2. Join High Intensity Aerobics - When you perform an aerobic activity such as swimming, dancing or cycling and run with the intention of increasing your heart rate your body is experiencing a shortage of oxygen. This causes your metabolism to go into overdrive and quickly to eliminate toxins and wastes from your system.
  3. Not all fats Avoid - Stay away from saturated fats and fat food rich in omega 3 and omega-6 oils. Deprive yourself of all fats will cause your metabolism to slow down as your body begins to believe that hunger and goes into fat conservation mode. This makes it difficult for fat cells to be transferred to the bloodstream, where they can be used to feed the muscles.
  4. Eat several small meals a day - if your body is busy digesting, your metabolism is increased. Snacking on healthy food several times a day keeps your metabolism elevated and efficiently.
  5. Stay Away From refined foods - The harder your body has to work on a food process, the more your metabolism raised. Refined foods are in a sense already partially digested and the speed sugars and fats directly into your bloodstream. This lowers the metabolism. Whole Foods, especially if they are raw, it takes longer to digest.
  6. Eat a low glycemic carbohydrates - low glycemic carbohydrates are those that the body take longer to record. These include fibrous, slow to digest vegetables such as celery, broccoli and beans in all the legume family.
  7. Vary your total calorie intake - The more you disturb your metabolism by refusing to pick up a general routine to arrange the more your metabolism speed up. Do not make it your goal to eat exactly 1200 calories per day. Eat one days following the 900 and 1600.
  8. Eat more protein - Make at least 30% of your daily diet protein. If you do this then your body 30% of your total calorie intake for the day just to use the protein to digest.
  9. Drink cold water - the colder the water you drink, the more your body will have to consume calories to raise your body temperature. This increases your metabolism.
  10. Take the stairs! - The stairs and not the lift could help stimulate your metabolism. The same goes for the choice of bike to work than driving and parking near the store in the mall parking lot.
Remember that when it comes to boosting your metabolism every little bit counts extra energy expenditure, although it does not seem like much at the moment!
